Detox, Fasting, & Juicing 

  

One of the physical ways to honor your temple is to maintain a nutritional lifestyle. However, keeping up with a healthy routine can be very difficult, so we help you find a regime that fits your lifestyle here at the Majestic Healing Temple.   

  

One of our favorite things to do is detox, fast, and Juice.  

  

Detoxification is the first step to cleansing and setting your intention for a healthier version of yourself. However, detoxification doesn't just mean a colon cleanse. It is also essential to detox yourself from stressors. The first step to doing this is identifying what stresses you and how to solve it. We understand very well that you will not eliminate all stress, so that's why we embrace Maya Angelou's way of thinking, "if you don't like something, change it; if you can't change it, change your attitude."   

  

With that acknowledged, there are several ways to deal with stress. 

  1. Directly- confront the problem and brainstorm a solution. 

  1. Find a stress reduction activity and daily practice such as meditation, massage, or working out. 

  1. Adapt an adaptogen. Adaptogens are stress-fighting herbs or mushrooms that help soothe the sympathetic nervous system by reducing inflammation, improving sleep, and improving the immune system. Some adaptogens are: ashwagandha, asian ginseng, Siberian ginseng, rhodiola, schisandra, and reisha.  

  1. Perspective change. Taking a curious position is always helpful. It is a habit to assume things. If certainty is not factual, then ask questions.  

 

These are just a few tips on how to manage daily stress.  

 

After detoxing, the next step is fasting. You can do these two things at the same time. Many people become discouraged by fasting, while some have made it a way of life. Whichever position you may take, fasting is good for building discipline, connecting with sources, and cleansing the body. There are several ways to fast: intermittent, 24-hour, 3–5-day water, or the warrior diet, which includes fruits and veggies by day and one balanced meal by night. Both would work, but your job is to pick one that works with your life or the new life you're creating.  

  

And lastly, keep it Juicy fruit, in my (Mtume voice). Juicing is a great way to get quick nutrients and maintain wellness, especially after detoxing and fasting. After cleansing the body, you will immediately get cravings. So, tune in to these cravings and make healthier decisions. Cravings are the body's way of informing you of what you need. For instance, if you start craving chocolate, you may need magnesium; if you are craving oily foods, calcium and salty food means you need chloride and silicon.
